At SYS we are completing our mission of providing positive youth development programming
through educational, health & wellness and leadership components to Native youth because of
donations from our generous contributors and sponsors. The programming we offer to Native youth
and communities has a broad anti-poverty focus and covers a wide range of services. We are in our second year of the Native Youth Wellness Corps (NYWC), an AmeriCorps VISTA & AmeriCorps Project, which grants young people one year service-learning projects, including a monthly stipend, health insurance and an educational stipend. Currently we are implementing a 100 member AmeriCorps project in six identified Native communities through the NYWC. Our Native American Soccer Project consisits of three initiatives-the Native American Soccer Start (NASS), Native American Soccer Coaches Committee (NASCC) and SYS Soccer Clinics. All three of these soccer initiatives provide leverage and community support for the ISC and aim to serve Native communities with coaching skills, uniforms and equipment. All of the services we provide to Native youth and communities would not be possible without continous support.
